Animal Physiology
This research activity is devoted to the improvement of knowledge on ruminant physiology, and to the elucidation of physio-pathological function of proteins acting as extracellular chaperones. These studies are realized with multidisciplinary approaches based on methods from molecular physiology, cell biology and biochemistry.
Main goals:
Characterization of the Redox and inflammatory status in animals
Physiological response of animals to climatic, nutritional, environmental factors
Biomarkers of animal welfare, energetic status and/or fat accumulation
Structural and functional characterization of the acute phase protein Haptoglobin in physiological and pathological conditions
Endocrine regulation of fat deposition in growing animals
