This activity mainly concerns the isolation and the study of ruminal and lactic microorganisms, their use for improving fibre digestion in ruminants and for feed detoxification, and the study of specific microbial enzymes. Food and Rumen microbiology themes are studied by integrating knowledge in microbial genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, and mathematical modelling of the animal/microorganism interaction.

Main goals:

  • Rumen and food microbiology
  • Bacterial detoxification
  • Mathematical models
